His working with the Electronic Dance scene continues, as he also continues to strengthen his live act with Sons of Mercury. With his solo works, Matthew made it also into Australia’s got Talent. His voice is diverse whilst suiting rock songs old school rock as well as modern pop and dance songs such as the Killers. His common stage antics include climbing onto things (including his keyboard stand), jumping into the crowd, holding that final note and seeing how far he can both lean and play his keyboard.

Matthew Bryant is the longest standing member of Sons of Mercury, traced back to Inflight Entertainment. Known in the small local original industry for winning almost every competition entered, Matt played an integral part to all of this as well as the recent successes of Sons of Mercury. Matt studied music through to tertiary studies in Western Sydney and despite a strong passion for the rock scene has an ability to adapt to a number of genres and is a diverse musician in his own right.
Matthew has played alongside members from the Screaming Jets, Choirboys, has been a session musician for a number of years and is known by fans as an impressive, choppy guitarist and singer. Teaming this ability with a strong love and enthusiasm and strong live performances has also been part of the band’s charisma and success.
Matt’s passion lies in all music but his strongest interest is in rock. His equipment includes a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and James Hetfield (Metallica) Gibson, and with this and other guitars he is still able to bring out impressive tones and sounds for the variety of genres we play including soft rock, funk, 50s rock.
Common stage antics include behind the head guitar playing, coming into the crowd, impressive guitar solos and sometimes picking up a set of sticks for a drum solo also.
